August Happenings

Sorry that it has been so long since our last post. It has been a very busy few weeks. Thank you to all who prayed for the blood test that Abigail took at the beginning of the month. Everything came back normal. Praise God!

We had the pleasure of having Mark's mom visit the first weekend of the month. We are blessed to have Mark's side of the family within 2 hours of us. Any visits are welcomed! Here's a video that we took that weekend. Gotta love a clean baby!

For the second week of the month, I had the pleasure to chaperone the 3-5 year old boys class in Vacation Bible School from 6:30-8:30 Monday thru Friday. Wow, they were a handful! I had an average of 5-8 each night and with the help of Julie, the week was a success. This year the theme was Group's Rome: Paul and the Underground Church theme, and it was great! We had a good turnout of about 100 kids. I definitely enjoyed watching the kids see the Bible stories come alive when they visited Paul every night in "jail". Thank you Julie for all your help! Thank you Angie for putting this all together, I loved the setup and schedule!

For the third week of the month, we finally went on our annual vacation. It was long overdue! Since Getloaded no longer has the Sandbridge condo, we decided to spend the week with my parents. What a great week! It took us about 4 hours to get there and Abigail was such a good traveler. We were a little concerned that Abigail would not sleep well since she would not be in her own crib. Thankfully she did great the whole week! Praise God! It was a blessing to spend the entire week with my parents. Mom is so good with Abigail and put her to bed most of the week. She's got that touch! Abigail tried lots of real food during the week. I think her favorite of all she tried was the bread pudding :)We traveled about an hour to visit with my brother's family for a couple of hours on Tuesday. It was so good to spend time with Thomas, Rachel and the girls. Mark and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary on Wednesday. It has been a wonderful 3 years. I can't wait to spend many many more years with such a good man. Mark is such a loving, hard working and compassionate husband and father. Thank you God for allowing our paths to cross. My mom watched Abigail while Mark and I went out for our anniversary lunch at Chili's. We also went shopping at the local mall and were able to get some great deals on clothes for Abigail. We all went to the Winston-Salem Dash baseball game Wednesday evening. Free tickets, free food, free entertainment, time with family=priceless. We traveled about 30 minutes to visit with my nana (my dad's mom) for an hour on Thursday. Please pray for her health and for her to make right decisions. We spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with mom and dad. It was definitely a great week! Thank you Nonni and Papa for having us!

We discovered over the weekend that Abigail is getting her 7th tooth. She is growing up so fast! She has been trying to pull herself up and stand the last few days. Enjoy the pictures. Until next time...God is good! All the time!

Blood work

Thanks to all who prayed for Abigail today while she got her blood work done. We actually got a choice of the finger prick or blood taken from her arm. We chose the finger prick and Abigail did very well. She only whimpered a bit and was just fine after that. She was more interested in her bright yellow band-aid when it was all said and done. I had to take it off in the car because she was trying to eat it. So, thanks again to all who prayed for us today. I was very apprehensive about the blood work and started to cry some while in the waiting room. Thank you God for your grace! Until next time...God is good! All the time!

Surprise visit

Mark's dad surprised us with a short visit last night. Abigail was a little shy at first but soon became her happy, fun-loving self. It was good to spend a couple hours with Mark's dad as we always enjoy having family visit. We are blessed with a great family. Mark's mom is coming up Thursday through Sunday so we are definitely looking forward to that too. Until next time...God is good! All the time!

Abigail's 9 month check up

Abigail went to the pediatrician on Friday for her 9 month checkup. She is 19lbs 13 oz (50-75% range) and 29 1/4 inches long (95% range). The pediatrician said she is continuing to do great. Thank you God for a healthy, happy and beautiful baby girl! Poor thing had to get 1 shot. She hardly cried this time though. We do have to take her for some blood work at LabCorp tomorrow. Nothing serious, just a test that my insurance wouldn't allow the pediatrician to do for some reason. This will be from her arm which I am sure will be much more painful than the shots in her thigh. Pray all goes well tomorrow. I hate seeing my little one hurt! The pediatrician said that we can continue with the cereal and baby foods but we can also start giving her real food too. She just got the hang of picking up little finger snacks (see the video) this week so we are excited for this next step of her growing up. She has really gotten the hang of crawling and she just learned to sit back up yesterday. It amazes me how much she has developed just within the last week. Our baby girl is growing up so fast! Thank you all for praying for us. Please continue. Enjoy the pictures and video. Until next time...God is good! All the time!
