More Christmas time with the Robinson's

Let's see....we left for Virginia Beach on Friday afternoon and spent Christmas Eve with Mark's cousins. There was great food, fellowship and gift exchanges. We had a good time. Christmas morning, we headed for Elizabeth City, NC to visit my side of the family. We hadn't seen my parents since February and the rest of the family since last Christmas. It was great to see them all! The food was delicious just as it always is! I had been craving my grandma's potato salad for the longest time. There's nothing like it! Grandma gave me the recipe so maybe I can attempt the wonderful dish some time soon. A couple hours after Christmas lunch, we exchanged gifts. It was alot of fun watching everyone open their gifts and see their faces light up. Mark and I were blessed with really nice gifts this year. We are truly blessed with a wonderful family. Until next time......God is good! All the time!

Christmas with the Robinson's

Mark and I left on Friday to spend some time with his side of the family for Christmas. We arrived at his dad's house in Harrisonburg Friday evening. It's always so lovely there. Mark was able to learn to drive stick shift with his dad's help Saturday morning. I'm so proud of Mark. He really wants to get a driver job with UPS and learning stick shift will hopefully help in the future. I'm glad that Mark was able to catch on quickly because I know he was worried about it. We headed to Winchester later that morning to visit his brother's family. They have such a beautiful home. We had a grand time visiting. Mark's mom was there for a stay during the holidays. It's always a joy to see her. Mark's dad, stepmom and family friend made it up for the dinner also. The food was excellent. We even suprised Mark's brother with a birthday cake and a bunch of cards. Mark and I played a couple games of foosball. It was even better with our neice and nephew, Anna and Will, joined in for a couple games. There were a few gifts exchanged later on and then the Robinson's traditional game of hearts. I so much enjoy watching them play. Grandma Belle was the grandmaster for sure! I love spending time with family; we definitely should do it more often! Mark's brother graciously paid for our room at a nice hotel near by. We were back to the house by 11am this morning. Breakfast was even ready for us! What a joy this trip has been. Another game of hearts took place this morning and Grandma Belle mastered the game again. We had Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch and watched some football. Mark and I played another couple games of foosball. He won. His brother and neice joined us for 3 games and beat us all 3 times. It was fun although we lost. Maybe I'll be better for next time! We headed for home around 3:30. I drove so Mark could get some rest. Traffic was heavy but we made it in good time. Mark had to work early tomorrow morning and then we'll head to Virginia Beach to spend Christmas Eve with his aunts, uncles and cousins. Christmas morning, we'll head to Elizabeth City to see my side of the family. We haven't seen my parents since February and the rest of the family since last Christmas. It will be good to see them. Mark and I are truly blessed with a good, loving and supportive family. Pray for our safety. Until next time......God is good! All the time!

It's almost Christmas!

There's only one week until Christmas! Mark and I have had a busy week since the last post. Mark has been working 10-11 hours a day and he is up and out the door by 2:15am. I don't know how he does it! I'm so proud of him. My work has been busy as usual. There's never a dull moment there, that's for sure! Last Tuesday night we went over to our friends' house for a Christmas party. We had fun exchanging gifts, eating food and playing the dvd game, Scene It. That game is so fun! Of course, the girls won! Mark's mom, Belle, came up for a visit for the weekend. It is always a joy to have her around. She treated us to Olive Garden Friday night. Boy, was that yummy! Saturday, Mark and I had to be at church for a few hours to practice for our Christmas program. That evening we had dinner and opened our Christmas presents from Belle. She was so generous. I'm so thankful to have such a loving mother-in-law. Mark and I got her an ipod and few other things. She was so excited. We knew she would like it. Sunday was normal with Sunday school and church. I had 4 kids in my class. They were a handful this week! Mark, Belle and I had lunch with the Bennetts and then headed home for a few minutes of rest before we had to be back at church at 3:30 for the last Christmas program practice. Mark and I both sang in the choir. The program went well. It was a lot of work but I think it was definitely worth it. We are back in the swing of things with the work week. I'm looking forward to being off for the holiday. My last day this week is Thursday and I don't go back until next Thursday. I wish Mark had all the time off too but UPS needs him! :) I will post our Christmas plans later on this week. Until next time......God is good! All the time!

Christmas Party

My work had it's annual Christmas Party on Saturday night at the Bull and Bear Club. It's on the 21st floor of the James Center in dowtown Richmond. Mark and I had never been there. The food was good and the view of downtown Richmond was breathtaking. It's not the atmosphere Mark and I prefer but we tried to make the best of it. We would have preferred to be at our Sunday School Christmas Party but my work's party was planned farther ahead of time and we had already rsvp'd. We only stayed for a couple of hours. We'll know better for next year! Until next time.....God is good! All the time!

Cold and slick!

What a yucky morning! There have been many car accidents in the Richmond area this morning due to freezing rain. Thankfully, I got to work safely. Pray for Mark's saftey since he's out on delivery now. We are getting together tonight with a group of friends to celebrate Mark's birthday which was last week. A night of fun, food and friends is just what we need! I hope everyone stays safe and warm today. Until next time.....God is good! All the time!

Need a laugh

I don't know about everyone else but this week has been busy and stressful! These times call for a laugh or two. I hope y'all enjoy these:

A Sunday School teacher began her lesson with a question. "Boys and girls, what do we know about God?"
A hand shot up in the air. "He is an artist!" said the kindergarten boy.
"Really?! How do you know?" the teacher asked.
"You know - 'Our Father, who does art in Heaven...'"

A young boy had just gotten his driving permit. He asked his father, who was a minister, if they could discuss his use of the car. His father said to him, "I'll make a deal with you. You bring your grades up, study your Bible a little, and get your hair cut, then we will talk about it." A month later the boy came back and again asked his father if they could discuss his use of the car. His father said, "Son, I'm real proud of you. You have brought your grades up, you've studied your Bible diligently, but you didn't get hair cut!" The young man waited a moment and replied, "You know Dad, I've been thinking about that. You know Samson had long hair, Moses had long hair, Noah had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair." His father replied, "Yes son, and they walked everywhere they went!"

A couple had two little boys, ages 8 and 10, who were excessively mischievous. They were always getting into trouble and their parents knew that, if any mischief occurred in their town, their sons were probably involved.
They boys' mother heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The clergyman agreed, but asked to see them individually. So the mother sent her 8-year-old first, in the morning, with the older boy to see the clergyman in the afternoon.
The clergyman, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, "Where is God?".
They boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there with his mouth hanging open, wide-eyed. So the clergyman repeated the question in an even sterner tone, "Where is God!!?" Again the boy made no attempt to answer. So the clergyman raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, "WHERE IS GOD!?"
The boy screamed and bolted from the room, ran directly home and dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him. When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, "What happened?"
The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied, "We are in BIG trouble this time, dude. God is missing - and they think WE did it!"

My best friend

I just wanted to take a moment and talk about my best friend. I've known Angie for almost 9 years now but more closely for the last 6 years. She is the true definition of friend. To lend an ear, give godly advice and encouragement and have tons of fun are just a few things she does for me. I am blessed to have her as my friend and I thank God for that true and sincere bond that we have. Being able to be so close to her and her family has been wonderful. I love seeing her kids grow up. I often think back to when each of her kids were so small, when I would babysit and just hang out with them. What great memories! Angie, thank you for sharing your family with me and for being such a wonderful friend!

The Robinsons join in on the blogging!

Welcome to our new blog! We decided to start this blog after enjoying The Knutson Klan updates so much. I often feel out of touch with everyone because of a busy schedule and introvert personality but that's no one's fault but my own. This is going to change with the help of this blog. Mark and I are a match.com success story. We met online on May 19th, 2005 and got married August 19, 2006. Married life has been great! Mark and I are very busy with our work schedules. I have been working for Getloaded.com for a little over 3 years. I started out in the call center but have been the currently the Administrative Support Supervisor for 2 years. My department handles the faxes, emails, scheduling and alot of other administrative work. My days are always busy but I enjoy that type of work. Mark has been working for UPS for the past month. He's such a hard worker! He's been going in at 3:30 am the past week or so to do the package handling until about 8:30-9:00am. He then meets a UPS driver around 9:30-10:00 to assist with delivering packages. The driving hours vary but he has been out past 6pm a few nights. What a long day! Please pray that he stays safe, gets plenty of rest and thay UPS will hire him on full time after the peak season. Mark was working some with Food Lion also but had to cut back due to the increasing hours at UPS. God has been good to us! We are members of the World's Greatest Church and definitely are blessed with a loving and friendly church family. I have been a member since 1998. When Mark and I were dating, he also joined the church. I teach the 4&5 year old Junior Church class which is during the morning church service. I average about 5-7 children each Sunday. They are such a joy at that age. No diapers and no attitudes (yet)! Mark and I are both in the Adult Choir. I have always enjoyed singing since I was a little girl. I'm not sure if Mark is as passionate about singing as I am though. There's so much more to share but I think that's enough for now. Be on the look out for more posts soon! God is good! All the time!
