Some good news amongst the sickness
What a week! As Mark mentioned already, we had to cancel our trip to my parents again because of me getting sick. I've missed a lot of work this week because of the upper respiratory infection. The antibiotics have caused me some discomfort too. It's been miserable but Mark has been taking good care of me. I'm definitely blessed with a caring and compassionate husband! Please continue to pray that I get better quickly and completely. Now for the good news.....Mark got the job at Kroger!!!! He finally got the call this afternoon and actually has training from 3-9 tonight. I'm so proud of him for not giving up on this! It's been a rough few months with the lack of hours for him. I see a light at the end of the tunnel now! Thank you God for your provisions. You're always right on time! Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us. Please continue to do so. Until next time....God is good! All the time!

Diagnosis
I drove Candy to the local Patient First and she was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. After the nurse attempted twice to take blood from her arms, finally the finger did the trick. She's on Amoxicillin.
We really appreciate Angie's continued help with us. Without her and her wisdom, we might not know what to do! Thanks Angie!
Until next time.......

Another trip to NC planned, another trip not taken
Just as nightfall came on Thursday night, we were planning our second trip to NC to visit Candy's family. However, sniffles and stomach aches had better ideas. After spending much of the night awake with various ailments, Candy decided to be a trooper and brave the yucky feeling and ride down to Kernersville. Once we got to Colonial Heights, her headache worsened, sniffles turned into continuous coughing, and thoughts of spending a relaxing weekend away turned into doubts of whether to drive another mile. After much debate, we decided to call her parents to postpone the trip. At the time, we didn't know what the reasons were as to why she was feeling so nasty; later that day, we found out. Apparently, she has come down with another case of a cold/flu in a month. The same reason for postponing the trip at the beginning of the month has reared its head again and chose Candy as its victim. Hopefully she will begin to feel better very soon and we can make the trip to NC! As for now though, Candy will stay put and continue to sleep, drink, and blow her nose until it decides to move onward.
Until next time......

Midweek Update
So far, I haven't heard from Kroger yet. I called today to see if the recruiter-lady was there but she wasn't. She'd be back at work on Friday morning. We're both praying that I will hear something before the weekend is over.
We're heading to the Winston-Salem metro area this weekend to visit Candy's parents for a few days. It should be a lot of fun! We haven't been there to visit since January '07. We are traveling down to Charlotte to visit Candy's brother's family too. All in all, it should be a very fun weekend!
I found out today that I am going to be "trained" tomorrow on how to load the UPS trucks. I don't know what they mean by being trained because I have loaded sporatically before. In fact, I loaded three trucks last Friday but I haven't been assigned to any this week. Hopefully now I will be weened off working on the slide and do something more worthwhile in loading the trucks. Working on the slide (a.k.a. sorting packages) is fast-paced. My supervisor is constantly barking at us to speed up the pace of our sorting and doesn't like "lolly-gagging around". He can get annoying, quite frankly, with his continuous heckling of us to do better. With my potential move to loading, it allows me to work at my own pace in a quieter environment. I have assisted with loading trucks during my brief time there, but nothing as much as last Friday. Hopefully, this will be a permanent move. I'm looking forward to exceeding expectations my supervisors have in me!
Either Candy or I will post something later this week.

What's new
Let's see....what's new in the Robinson household? Well, I am feeling better but still have a little cough. I am hoping that it will go away very soon. Since we had to cancel our trip to visit my parents at the beginning of the month, we have rescheduled to go next weekend. Please pray for our health and safety. Mark should be hearing from Kroger on Monday, let's hope so anyway! We really need this additional job! Mark and I are going to a Valentine banquet at our church tonight. We are really looking forward to getting out of the apartment and having some fun. Well that's about it for now. Until next time.....God is good! All the time!

Under the Weather
Right as Friday was fast approaching, I tell Mark, "I'm not feeling good." We were looking forward to visiting my parents and my brother's family in North Carolina this weekend but God had other plans. We had to postpone our trip for a few weeks. I've been sick with the flu since Thursday evening. With a constant fever, chest congestion, sore throat, coughing and body aches, it has been a miserable weekend. I've been taking a lot of meds and been getting a lot of rest so hopefully this will be over soon. I'm blessed with a good husband. Mark has been taking good care of me. Poor thing, he didn't sleep well lastnight because I kept getting up. Please pray that I get rid of this quickly and completely and that Mark doesn't get sick. Until next time....God is good! All the time!
